Homecoming 2012

It's Homecoming week and all that entails...  Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of everyday :(  Each day was different, with a different theme.  Monday was "crazy sock day," Tuesday was Tuesday was "Pajama day,"  Wednesday was "inside out day," Thursday was "tie day,"  and Friday was "Trojan day," or "red and black."  Lyssa of course dressed up for each and every day, and the "picture taking mom" didn't take pictures.  I guess I would call that a blogger fail to not have taken pictures.

Our Homecoming was actually Thursday night because she is a cheerleader for the Pee Wee Football team.  I snapped a few pictures Thursday night, but I was sitting directly in front of them, which made zooming out an impossibility.  I also videoed their "half-time dance."  Although, half-time didn't go nearly as smooth as it normally did.  They are use to two dances and having their names called out and some time between each name.  But not everything is perfect every time, that's life.  I must commend our boys, we are now 3-0 and our defense has given up NO points!

"When the Trojans rock the house they rock it all the way down!"

After our game was over and we were headed home, we got to see the Homecoming bonfire at the high school   The way we go home is by driving down behind the high school, so I snapped a couple of pictures.
you can sort of see the little people by the fire to show how big the fire was.
those are not kids, they are high school students.

wish I had been closer, there were hundreds of students there

Friday morning, headed to school
I picked Lyssa and Lexie up from school and headed to get them on the float.  I am super glad I snapped a few pictures when I did, as it started sprinkling and then without warning, it began to pour.  I ran to the car with my camera in one hand and son in the other.

Ellyssa, AJ, and Lexie on the truck

Then it rained and I ran.  We were soaked, but all I could think about was my little wet cheerleader sitting on the back of the truck.  I just knew this parade wasn't going to be a good one.  However, when I pulled up at the school to get my spot on the side of the road I realized it hadn't even rained there.  I looked back at Alex and the rain had tired him out.

the beginning of the parade, with the police and their sirens

and the sirens woke Alex up

Mrs. Kristie held him while he pointed and wanted to know what all that noise was

Red Trojans (not sure who the kid is on the bike or why he's there)

she saw us and threw suckers to her brother

love the messed up "rain hair" and the look of, "I have no idea why that was SO loud and why they threw candy."
The girls had a great time and the High school football team won their homecoming game.  My children both passed out early, I guess the excitement wore them out.
