Tax-free weekend is HERE! Yay! And in Alabama it means savings on diapers too! And by savings, I mean BIG savings. I am in no way an "extreme couponer," however, when it comes to expensive diapers, well, I just may be "extreme." See, diapers are expensive and well, living on a budget is HARD with a baby in diapers. Well, this is how I do it. Coupons + tax free = WIN!

You are looking at this weekend's "steals." I only buy diapers once a year, that's right, ONCE. This year I didn't buy as many as normal because I'm hoping to start the potty training process. I started two years ago, two weeks before my son was born. And this is how I do it...
E-Bay for coupons, keeping in mind the dates of tax free weekend.
Just a reminder, this works with Pampers too, although it's a little more work, as each 4 coupons used for Pampers, you have to do a new transaction.
However, this is not a problem since my son started undressing and we discovered these Huggies Slip-Ons.

Here is my haul and my savings:
19 x $8.96 = $170.24
1 x $25.96 = $25.96
4 x $19.96 = $79.84
= $276.04
+ 24.84 (tax) (it's added in to figure Wal-Mart discount)
=$300.88
- $30.09 (10 % WalMart discount since husband works there)
=$270.79
- 24.84 (tax since there is no tax)
=$245.95
- $40 (20 ($2.00 coupons))
=$205.95

That is super impressive!

ReplyDeleteI would have never thought of doing that! That is some pretty good savings that you accomplished. I did not know that they included diapers in on the tax free weekend until recently. My sister let me in on that secret this weekend. Congrats on all of the savings.
