So as some people know, I've been on a diet for two weeks now. And I am doing very well, that is until my husband decided he was going to make homemade donuts. Yes, my husband is off work today and for breakfast he made homemade donuts. These are in no way good for my diet, but they were SO good going down. And my wonderful husband didn't seem to mind the camera capturing his every move.

Yummy donuts and donut holes |
So, here is the recipe for the glaze.
1/3 cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
4-6 tablespoons hot water
The Hubs mixing it up |
The quick and secret ingredient: Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits |
and for the holes he used the lid to our Lemon Pepper |
the holes made perfect donut holes |
he put them in our fryer without the basket on 350 |
He says about 1 and 1/2 minutes on each side before flipping |
rotating the donut holes, that took a little more work than just flipping the donuts |
Lyssa out of bed in just enough time to glaze them |
The Tennerys enjoyed fresh homemade donuts this morning thanks to my husband and daughter and yes, this dieting mommy had one or two... I hope you can try this recipe and let me know how it worked for your family.
