My Favorite Books

Welcome to all the Mom 2 Memphis and Ruby readers.  Today's Tuesday 10 is my ten favorite books.  This is kind of hard to narrow down, but I tried it out and I hope you enjoy.

1. My Bible
I'm sure most people will have their Bible on their list, but I grew up on the King James Version.
I'm not dumb and I can figure out what the means are of scripture, especially when accompanied by a sermon, but my Bible is the New Living Translation.
It's organized so well and I'm able to use the table of contents to look up any topic that I want to and go right to it to see what the Bible has to say about it.
2. My daughter's Bible
Her's is a Faith Girlz New International Version
I love it because not only is it written very well, as mine is, but it is also a type of study Bible for girls.
After each section are questions and opinions.
Although no where near as good as Church, it helps out with out Bible study here at home.
3. What the Bible Says About Parenting
This is a book that was giving to me by my wonderful OBGYN, Dr. Richmond, after I had my daughter.
It means a lot to me and so does he.
After the lose of my son, he handled my so well while I was pregnant with my daughter and the prayer he said before taking me back to surgery is still in my heart.
He's no longer in my area and is truly missed by my family.
4. Baby's First Book of Prayers
I guess you could say this is sort of AJ's Bible.
This was given to us only hours after his birth by a wonderful friend, Janna.
She has worked with me and my husband in the past and we have remained close with her over the years.
She has a wonderful heart and soul.
5. 30 Days to Taming Your Tongue
This is a wonderful book that I found walking through Wal-Mart one day, it just jumped off the shelf at me.
It's a step by step guide on what the things you say to people, or don't say, actually does to them.
We all have lapses in judgement sometimes, but if you do, it tells you how to handle it.
It also addresses apologies and how to be forgiven, in my home, saying "I'm sorry" can be lip service if you don't act remorseful after the fact.
This can include followup conversations as well as not repeating behavior.
6. Dining on a Dime Cook Book
Given to us by my mom, this cookbook is very useful.
From not paying $2.50 for Shake and Bake to making your own for $0.20
The ideas and recipes are great.

7. The Four Ingredient Cookbooks
Yes, cookbooks, this is a 3-in-1 given to us by my mom, many many years ago.
I actually took this book with me to collage and my roommate and I cooked from it.
I mean, who can mess up four ingredients?

8. My Big Animal Book
I couldn't even tell you where this book came from, its copyright is in 2003.
This has been through my daughter and now my son loves it.
Although most animals are either "ooooooo" or "dog" he can spend hours looking at this book.

9 and 10. The National Dean's List
These are publications from the entire United States.
These sit on my bookshelf as a reminder that I can and have accomplished a lot of things and being a stay-at-home mom can never take that away.
My picture and biography appear in the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 editions.

  1. ooo! I didn't think to include cook books! So smart :) I would have put my pioneer woman cook book! Happy Tuesday

    1. I'm going to have to pick that cook book up, I haven't heard of it. With a sports playing ten year old, a toddler, and a hungry husband I have to use cook books, they get bored easily.

  2. I love that you aren't afraid to post the Bible as your favorite book! It is one of my favorites too. I am your newest follower! I found you via the link up today. Check out my Tuesday Ten.

    1. Never afraid to show my love, I'm blessed that my daughter attends a public city school that PRAYS! I saw your Tuesday post and became a follower of yours. See you next week.

  3. Love your list!! Thank you so much for linking up!

    1. Thanks! And thanks so much for doing these.

Comments help me get to know you better, thanks for leaving your thoughtful thoughts. Have a blessed day! xoxo
