Today was what I consider a wonderful day. The sun was shinning so brightly, my family had smiles on their faces, and so did all the girls at the softball field tonight. The game ended in a tie, but there was really no stress involved, all the girls did wonderful, on both teams and it was all about fun tonight. Sitting in the nice warm sun and watching my husband and daughter, I thought to myself, I couldn't be more blessed. God had put me where he wanted me, for years I tried to figure out why things happen, all the time knowing He had a reason. I still tried to figure it all out. I have finally learned to relax and realize that I am here for the ride and I need to enjoy it. And enjoy is what I have been doing lately.
With the loss of my son almost 12 years ago, my spirits were somewhat broken. As I lay in the hospital bed and for many months afterwards I told everybody that he was much better off with Jesus, as I was not able to take care of a baby that was born that prematurely, and He could. I knew at that time that that was what was best and to this day I never doubt or question what happened. But years later I did question things, even though I knew there was a reason and it wasn't more than I can bare. However, as I sit and look at my life today, all the pieces to my puzzle have fit perfectly together. Without one thing happening, none of what I have now would have ever happened. Even all the way down to keeping a job I absolutely hated for over a year, to eventually meet my husband, it all HAD to happen. And it was His plan, not mine.
Today, I have a wonderful family and honestly could not be any happier. I am somewhere in my life that I thought I would never be, at a place where I thought I never wanted to be. I never wanted to get married, never thoguht about children, and now I am married to a man that I could never love any more than I do and have the smartest most beautiful daughter (in my eyes) in the world. Other than minor things, like my blood pressure, my low blood sugar, my husband's high blood sugar, and all of our allergies, we are all healthy and happy. I can only look up to one person for all of my happiness, and say Thank You.

Softball picture day...
So today was picture day for softball... of course it had to rain and storm, so the pictures were moved inside to the gym. Of course pictures use to take forever, however it has seemed that the last two years Hot Shots has been doing alot better. My husband had to work today, but had to be in pictures too. I told him to clock out at work about 11:05 to get to pictures in time, pictures were scheduled for 11:20. Of course we walk in the gym and every single team in existance was there. At one point they even had 2 cameras with no one at them, but yet they were "scheduled" to have teams at them so they couldn't take our pictures, we had to wait in line behind 2 other teams. Finally at about 11:55 they began our individual pictures followed by the team picture. Oh and I forgot to mention the lack of air in the gym, it was so hot. Now most people that know me know I have high blood pressure so of course my face is always red, but it was so hot my husband's face was red. Oh well, pictures are done and we are home. Here are the pictures that I took.

Excitement with Ellyssa - Helen Keller
Over Spring Break my little 2nd grader was given an assignment to research a famous person and write a short report and then give the speech today. Below is the report and the pictures she included and this is what she wrote and what she said today... I put in bold the information she was given, in regular type will be what she wrote.
My name is Helen Keller. I was born June 27th, in 1880 and I became deaf and blind when I was a year and a half. As a child, it was tough for me to lern, I was called a wild child, I moved to New York City when I was 13. I am famous for being the first deafblind person to graduate college. After I graduated I traveled around the world and spoke about being deaf and blind and about women's rights. Some interesting facts about me are: I wrote a book called The Story of My Life. My first word was it I lerned it from putting my fingers on Anne's mouth, nose and throat. I was in a movie called Deliverance about my life.
Thank You.
Helen Keller died June 1, 1968. I chose this person because she over came her disabilites and helped others and she's from Tuscumbia. My name is Ellyssa Tennery.
Now some of these things are misspelled and need commas, but it was written by a second grader. She made a 100%. Mommy and Daddy couldn't be any prouder!

Only Positive...

I am starting this blog as a time to sit and reflect on the good things in my life. I have so many things to be thanful for, however I often find myself being distracted by a few bad things. I often vent on my FaceBook status when things really get to me and I am hoping to have none of that here. I want this to be strictly a positive thing that one day my family and children will be able to read and see the good times that we had in thier lives while growing up.
To start this off, I am including the latest picture of our daughter, it is a school picture that was taken by Danny Mitchel Photography, however I bought the copyright to it and edited it myself. I hope everyone enjoys keeping up with us in the grand adventure that we call life.
